Quezon City Crime Rate Dropped By Almost 50% Since Duterte Started His Term

A news that deserves a big round of applause is giving us new hope. Ever since President Rodrigo Duterte started his term, the crime rate in Quezon City dropped by almost 50% according to the Quezon City Police District.

Almost half

The data is taken from eight focused crimes – Murder, homicide, robbery, motorcycle theft, car theft, theft, physical injury, and theft.
The comparison was between the crime data of November 2014 – June 2016 compared to July 2016 to February 2018.
QCPD director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said that the drop is 44.2 percent.

Duterte’s effect

In the past data, there have been 17,305 crimes recorded, compared to just 9,562 crimes since Duterte sat in office.
Under these recorded crimes, 361 were homicide cases recorded from November 2014 to June 2016. For the period of Duterte, from July 2016 to February 2018, the homicide crimes that were recorded are only 65.

Alleged vigilante killings

Eleazar also added that despite the number of alleged vigilante killings that supposedly started when Duterte became president, the number of murder incidence dramatically fell compared to the past administration.
The police force has been accused of summary execution killing of the suspected drug cases. Despite their continuous denials, they are still being accused.
The police force is firm that majority of those killed by the policemen in legitimate operations are those who fired first.

Duterte’s order

Contrary to what the detractors claim, President Duterte did not order their policemen to kill drug suspects.
His orders were to shoot if the policemen feel that their lives are in danger.f the suspects shot at the police force first, it will be a waste of our force if we still order them to stay back and not protect their lives, don’t you think?
