Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Alfonso A. Ver (extreme left), met with HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the Gudaibiya Palace on 11 February 2018.
Earlier, the total ban of Filipino OFWs to Kuwait has been implemented after the discovery of the beaten and maltreated corpse of a Pinay OFW Joanna Demafelis inside a freezer in an abandoned apartment in Kuwait.
According to Ver, the Prince gave praise to the Filipino workers because of their diligence and patience. He even called the Filipino workers efficient and very good workers.”

Along with that, the prince also said that Bahrain will be open to welcoming Filipino workers that will be pulled out from Kuwait so that they won’t have to go home to the Philippines if they don’t want to.
Ver also gave thanks to Bahrain for showing concern for the OFW that are battling their lives being our modern day heroes in different countries.

Reactions

Reactions to this news are torn between those who are thankful for the concern that the Prince has given and those that are concerned because according to them, the rate will be lower when you work in Bahrain.
But for us, no matter how big the difference is in the salary range of Kuwait and Bahrain, there will nothing be more priceless than human life.
Bahrain vowed to watch the welfare of the Filipinos working in their country,.
