Pres. Duterte Still PH’s Most Trusted Gov’t Official – Pulse Asia survey
President Rodrigo Duterte's trust and approval ratings remain at an all-time high in December 2017, maintaining numbers that made him so far the most approved and trusted President in nearly a decade.
Duterte got an approval rating of 80 percent and trust rating of 82 percent in the December 10 to 15 and 17 national survey of Pulse Asia.
An earlier survey by Pulse Asia put Duterte as having higher average trust and approval ratings than former Presidents Joseph Estrada, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and Benigno Aquino III.
The approval rating of Duterte in December did not change from his 80 percent rating in September 2017 while his trust rating barely changed at 2 percent from 80 percent in September 2017 to 82 percent in December 2017.
In the same survey, Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo got an approval rating of 59 percent and a trust rating of 58 percen.
While the President has majority approval ratings and trust figures across all geographic locations, Mindanao has the highest evaluation of Duterte as respondents there gave him a 93 percent approval score and 94 percent trust rating.
The Senate President, however, failed to gain the trust of most Visayans at 47 percent.
The approval rating of Pimentel rose by two percent form 55 percent in September 2017 to 57 percent in December 2017. His trust ratings barely changed from 52 percent in September 2017 to 53 percent in December 2017.
Alvarez, meanwhile, only obtained a majority of approval rating at 53 percent in Mindanao.
The approval rating of Alvarez increased by 9 percentage points from 33 percent in September 2017 to 42 percent in December 2017.
His trust rating also rose from 31 percent in September 2017 to 37 percent in December 2017.
