NPA confesses to accidentally killing a baby in a police ambush
The NPA-North Central Mindanao Region expressly extend their condolence to and are asking for forgiveness from the relatives of the slain and wounded civilians. The Eastern Mindanao Command of the military has condemned the ambush of the NPA, saying that the act violated the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law or CARHRIHL between the government and the CPP-NPA-NDF.The law states that they should not attack civilians and non-combatants, as well as a ban of the use of landmines.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms this barbaric act committed by the perpetrators of this incident which resulted to the tragic death of a four-month old baby girl and one of our police personnel,” said Brigadier General Eric Vinoya of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
